Why do you need Career Counselling?

When I meet a new student, I ask them – remember the time you were 10 years old?. Tell me what did you want to become then?

I first get a weird look and then their eyes light up, when they remember their wild dreams of becoming a cricketer, a vet, an astronaut!

So, what happened now, I ask. Inevitably, they look at their parents and shrug. And I see another dream die.

It’s hard for a child to convince their parents why it is ok to do history and not the latest computer course. It’s even harder if the child or parents have limited exposure and access to information. This is where a career counselor can help.

A career counselling engagement supports you in the following ways :

  1. Assess your innate talents, strengths, and skills based on a scientific psychometric assessment.
  2. Explore what is possible given your set of limitations, and ambitions. Also, explore the wide variety of career possibilities that are available in the world today, using a centralized database of career options.
  3. Create a career path to your desired goal – the path may lie through a specific course or an international college. You may need specific guidance on how to ace the entrance exams posed by a particular college.

A career counsellor is a lighthouse – working with you, for you, guiding you every step of the way to achieving your dreams.
